Requirements to obtain VISA to enter Taiwan

Passport Information

U.S. Passport or passport of any other nationality, must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the day of entry into the country for which VISA has been applied for. If validity is less than 6 months ETS will renew your passport (Fee’s apply).
U.S. citizens do not require a visa to enter Taiwan for the purpose of tourism or business for a period of 90 days.

Visa requirements for Non-U.S. citizens

Taiwan Tourist Visa

A signed valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining and at least 2 blank visa pages
One fully completed application form. The application form must be completed online and printed with the bar code – Click Here
Two passport type identical colored photographs, 2×2 on a white background, less than 6 months old, no glasses to be worn in the photo
Notarized color copy of the permanent resident alien card (front and back) or a valid visa back to the U.S.
Documents verifying the purpose of the visit (ex. a letter of invitation from the person to be visited in Taiwan) or proof of hotel reservation is required.
Copy of the latest bank statement, showing the travelers name
Onward/return ticket or confirmed itinerary.The itinerary must show the applicant’s name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information
A signed letter of authorization allowing us to drop off/pick up the passport and other documents at the Taiwan consulate.

Taiwan Business Visa

Copy of the latest bank statement, showing the travelers name
A letter (on company letterhead) from the company in the U.S. stating the purpose and duration of the trip and that the company will take care of all the financial expenses of the applicant during the intended stay in Taiwan.
Letter of invitation (on company letterhead) from the host company in Taiwan. The letter must indicate the full name, date of birth and passport number of the applicant. The letter must bear the signature of the inviting contact in Taiwan and the company seal.

Other Information

Passport holders from India, Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao, Vietnam and Indonesia also in possession of a valid visa or permanent residence card issued by the U.S.A., Canada, Japan, the U.K., The Schengen Convention countries, Australia or New Zealand will benefit from visa exempt status. On the following website https://niaspeedy.immigration.gov.tw/nia_southeast/ the traveler will be required to submit information concerning his or her documents and personal data into the system. Upon completion, a confirmation form will be made available to the traveler. This form should be printed out and presented upon entry into Taiwan as it is used for authentication purposes during the boarding and immigration check.
