Requirements to obtain VISA to enter Afghanistan

Passport Information

U.S. Passport or passport of any other nationality, musthave at least 6 months remaining validity from the day of entry into the country for which VISA has been applied for. If validity is less than 6 months ETS will renew your passport (Fee’s apply).

Afghanistan Tourist Visa

A valid signed passport with atleast 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry and at least 2 blank visa pages.

1-passport type photograph, 2×2 on a white background, less than 6 months old, no glasses to be worn in the photo.
A color copy of the Green Card (front and back) or a valid visa back to the U.S. if the applicant is not a U.S. citizen
If visiting family or friends, please write a letter of introduction stating whom you intend to visit in Afghanistan. The inviter must provide a letter of invitation with a copy of their passport page or local I.D.
If the purpose of your visit is tourism, please write a letter stating in detail the nature of your tour and places you intend to travel to in Afghanistan.
Proof of financial support: please provide the latest 3-month bank statement. The statement must reflect the name of the traveler.
Onward/return ticket or confirmed itinerary, along with proof of hotel reservation is required.

Afghanistan Business Visa

A valid signed passport with atleast 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry and at least 2 blank visa pages.

A color copy of the Green Card (front and back) or a valid visa back to the U.S. if the applicant is not a U.S. citizen
A letter of introduction from the employer or sponsor stating the purpose and duration of the trip, sponsorship information and financial guarantee for expenses that the applicant will incur in Afghanistan
Please provide an official Letter of Invitation issued and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Afghanistan. The letter must be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Afghanistan and must be sent directly to the appropriate Embassy/Consulate in the U.S. A copy of the invitation must be included along with your application.
