Requirements to obtain VISA to enter South Africa

Passport Information
U.S. Passport or passport of any other nationality, must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the day of entry into the country for which VISA has been applied for. If validity is less than 6 months ETS will renew your passport (Fee's apply).

   

Holders of United States and Canadian passports do not need visas to enter the Republic of South Africa for visits less than 90 days but will have to provide the following to the Immigration Officers on request:

• A valid passport
• Yellow fever certificate if the applicant will be traveling, intends to travel or traveled from or through the yellow fever endemic area
• Statement or documentation confirming the purpose and duration of visit, preferably from the host organization in the Republic of South Africa
• Proof of sufficient financial means
• Proof of return ticket in case of visits of less than 12 months

Visa requirements for non-U.S. citizens.

South Africa Tourist Visa

• A valid passport, with atleast 6 months validity remaining
• One application form, fully completed and signed
• Two passport type photographs
• A statement or documentation confirming the purpose and duration of the visit
• Yellow fever certificate if the applicant will be traveling, intends to travel or traveled from or through the yellow fever endemic area
• Copy of the Green card or a valid visa back to the U.S.
• In respect of minor dependent children accompanying the applicant or joining the applicant in the Republic, proof of such guardianship or custody will be needed. In the case of unaccompanied minor, consent from the guardian
• Proof of sufficient financial means
• Onward/return tickets or confirmed itineray

South Africa Business Visa

• A valid passport, with atleast 6 months validity remaining
• One application form, fully completed and signed
• Two passport type photographs
• Yellow fever certificate if the applicant will be traveling, intends to travel or traveled from or through the yellow fever endemic area
• Copy of the Green card or a valid visa back to the U.S.
• A letter from the company in the U.S. stating the purpose and duration of the trip
• A letter of invitation from the host company in South Africa (REQUIRED)
• Proof of sufficient financial means
• Onward/return tickets or confirmed itineray
