Requirements to obtain VISA to enter Mexico

U.S. citizens travelling to Tijuana,Ensanada, Rosarito or Tecate and the trip is no longer than 72 hours do not need to apply for a tourist permit at the consulate or elsewhere. Proof of citizenship is required for re-entry purposes into the U.S.

When travelling as a tourist beyond the border zone( i.e. farther than Ensanada) immigration authoroties will require you to obtain a "tourist card" also known as "FMT Card"

To get an "FMT" form, show valid passport and offciial photo I.D.

Visa requirements for non-U.S. citizens.

Mexico Tourist Visa

• Valid passport and photocopy of passport,with atleast 6 months validity remaining
• 1 application form, completely filled out and signed
• 2 passport type photographs (must be recent and in color)
• Copy of the alien registration card, if the applicant is a resident alien( copy of the front and back of the alien card)
• Onward/return ticket or confirmed itinerary
• Proof of financial support and hotel reservation

Mexico Business Visa

• Valid passport and photocopy of passport,with at least 6 months validity remaining
• 1 application form, completely filled out and signed
• 2 passport type photographs( must be recent and in color)
• Copy of the alien registration card, if the applicant is a resident alien( copy of the front and back of the alien card)
• Letter addressed to the consulate general of Mexico by the American company on official letterhead that applicant represents stating the specific purpose of teh trip,time requested and lenght of stay in mexico and that the applicant's salary wil be paid in the U.S.
• A copy of the company's business licence( make sure the licence is not expired)
• A letter or various letters from the company or companies in Mexico, addressed to the company in the USA requesting the service of the applicant and the activities to be performed
• Onward/return ticket or confirmed itinerary
