Requirements to obtain VISA to enter Luxembourg
Passport Information
U.S. Passport or passport of any other nationality, must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the day of entry into the country for which VISA has been applied for. If validity is less than 6 months ETS will renew your passport (Fee's apply).
U.S. citizens do not require a visa for tourist or business travel
Visa requirements for non-U.S. citizens
Luxembourg Tourist Visa
- A passport or official travel document with a validity that exceeds the intended stay of the applicant by at least three months. Please make sure your passport has a blank page to affix the visa.Note: If the validity of the passport or travel document does not include one or more Schengen countries, it is still possible to obtain a visa. This visa will then be restricted to those Schengen countries, which accept the passport or travel document.
- One visa application form and 1 recent passport-size photograph. Please fill out the application form completely and legibly in black ink.
- Proof establishing the purpose of your trip, for example a letter of invitation, proof of participation in group travel, etc. If you are visiting family or friends please have them fill out at “Declaration the Prise en Charge” from their local “commune.”
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the cost of your intended stay (e.g. traveler checks, credit cards, bank statements, letter of employment, etc.).
- Proof of lodging, i.e. hotel reservations, rental of vacation home, stay with a family member or friend. In the latter case, a financial support document should be submitted signed by the family member or friend in question; the signature of this person has to be notarized by the local authorities of the Schengen country in question.
- Proof that you can continue your trip after your visit to the Schengen countries, i.e. onward or return non-endorsable airline ticket.
- If returning to the US, a valid US resident alien card (notarized) or a valid US visa. Students should present a valid I-20; Exchange Visitors should present a valid I-66.
- If the applicant is a minor, please present written consent of a parent or guardian having the care and custody of the child. The signatures on this document have to be notarized.
- Proof of travel health/accident insurance is required.
- Copy of plane tickets or confirmed itinerary.
Luxembourg Business Visa
- Please submit all above mentioned (except proof of funds) in the Tourist section plus submit:
- A letter from the company in Luxembourg.
- A letter from the company in the United States stating the purpose of the visit and duration plus mention that financial responsibility is taken care by the company.
