Requirements to obtain VISA to enter Japan
Passport Information
U.S. Passport or passport of any other nationality, must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the day of entry into the country for which VISA has been applied for. If validity is less than 6 months ETS will renew your passport (Fee's apply).

US citizens do not require a visa for tourist or business travel up to 90 days
VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR NON US CITIZENS
Japan Tourist Visa
- A valid passport with atleast 6 months validity remaining
- One 2"x2" passport-type photo (taken within 6 months)
- One visa application form fully compelted and signed
- An alien registration card (i.e. U.S. green card) if you are a permanent resident of the U.S.
- An I-20 form if you are a foreign student in the U.S.
- Proof of long-term resident status in the U.S. if you are neither a permanent resident nor a foreign student
- Airline tickets to and from Japan or flight confirmation
- For visiting friends or relatives
- The applicant's U.S. bank statement
- A letter of invitation
- A letter of guarantee
- A proof of residence from the person in Japan
- A proof of employment, tax-income certificate (Gensen-choshuhyo), or bank statement of the person in Japan
- For tour or sightseeing
- The applicant's U.S. bank statement
- Hotel confirmation
- Tour confirmation or itinerary

VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR NON US CITIZENS
Japan Business Visa
- A valid passport with atleast 6 months validity remaining
- One 2"x2" passport-type photo (taken within 6 months)
- One visa application form, fully completed and signed
- An alien registration card ( i.e. U.S. green card) if you are a permanent resident of the U.S.
- A letter from the applicant's U.S. company which must include the nature of the business trip, schedule, length of stay and the company's financial responsibility for the expenses incurred during the trip.
- A letter of invitation from the host company in Japan ( REQUIRED).
- Hotel confirmation in Japan
- Airline tickets to and from Japan or flight confirmation

- For nationals of Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, or Cuba, the approval for issuance of a visa may take 1-2 months.
